This week we catch up with a woman of many talents, Lara Fraser...
As seen on your Instagram, you have a full-time job as a DJ, producer and radio show host, how has being an influencer shaped your career, if at all? What is the most challenging thing balancing a job with your influencer career?
My job integrates with any online presence that I have so I’m quite lucky in that respect. Anything I chose to endorse will always be in line with my life, my career and music. So, the balance really comes through aligning myself with brands, events and people that I really would use or associate within my work or day to day life and not who’s going to pay the most.
What advice would you give to influencers who are pursuing similar careers as yours, wanting to break into the business?
I think influencing comes from a space of sharing yourself and your life. The role of Instagram and blogs change as the audience changes the way they navigate the internet, making it hard to pinpoint a specific formula. However, I do feel that the crux of the role is not to simply to be a person of influence but rather to find the area you are passionate about and use your knowledge stemming from your passion to share with the world.
What is one of the biggest ways being an influencer has impacted your life?
Brand partnerships and having an online audience make great platforms to share my music, generate jobs and talk about topics that are important to me. It certainly has had an impact on how I book DJ jobs and link with people in similar industries. All in all I see it as the ultimate of networking tools.
