This week we catch up with Lifestyle, Fitness and Fashion Influencer, Daniel Solomon..
How long have you been blogging and what motivated you to start?
I first started to blog when I was 16 which involved me playing games on YouTube. This was the first time I started to create content. However I started to blog for 1.5 years now on Instagram creating men’s fashion and lifestyle content. From this, I have recently started to create YouTube content once again.
The thing that motivated me was that I always saw content creators making incredible content which I loved. This inspired me to create my own content whether it was gaming or men’s fashion! I also loved talking to new people whether it was in person or online and blogging integrated this together and created a community!
What has been your biggest challenge so far?
The biggest challenge for me is to get to a point where I could have this as a full time income. This is something I would love to achieve and I hope that I will make this happen in the future! To attack this challenge, I have started to outreach more to brands, start up my YouTube channel so I become more flexible in what content I can create for brands. Thus making myself more versatile.
Whats a typical day like for you?
A typical day for me varies because I have a job as well. However I tend to work and edit my content in the evening with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. I also try to reply to as many comments and messages as I can in my spare time to keep my audience engaged. This has led to me increasing my engagement rate through the roof! I will also outreach to brands to see if they would like to collaborate. A few great examples are Shein, ASOS and Remington!
From this, I am going to try and contact travel brands because I am planning on travelling in September!
On my days off, I go out and get new content. If I know that I haven’t got much time if I’m doing overtime from work. I will bring multiple outfits with me and go to different locations. This will allow me to get a load of content in a short space of time allowing me to be more efficient! If I can, I will edit multiple photos in one day so I can schedule my posts during the week.
Finally, If you had one piece of advice to give to other aspiring influencers, what would it be?
The one piece of advice I would give to influencers is that when you outreach to companies. I would recommend emailing a couple of people in that company. This is because after emailing multiple companies, that some departments work with influencer more than others. Some companies may not have an influencer manager, so I would look at the Press Officers. Some companies may outsource their influencer strategies so you have to a bit of digging to find the right contacts!
