Danubia Sousa isn't a regular mom, she's a cool mom....

How long have you been blogging and what motivated you to start?

I've been blogging and working as an influencer for 5 years now, and love it. I used to be fortunate enough to travel all over the world working as model, and people loved my pictures from far away places. It seemed a natural step to take it from a bit of fun to making some extra money.

I started posting about travel and fashion, and have continued into lifestyle and my journey with my beautiful daughter Mia.

what has been your biggest challenge so far?

The transition from fashion model to influencer as a mother, without losing my identity has been my biggest challenge. I'd built up a large and loyal following for fashion and travel, and becoming a mum has meant I create a lot of content that appeals to a different audience. I've had to work very hard to remain true to my values and personality to keep my existing followers and attract a whole new audience. Being a Mum does not mean you lose who you are, you just have to adapt. I realise I've made the love of my life and a little star in the making!

Whats a typical day like for you?

Feed, sleep, feed, sleep, repeat 🙂

Nowadays, a typical day for me is getting up for the morning routine then stopping for a coffee and thinking about the content I want to make for me, and the content I want to make for my brands.

I've found the content I love and my audience engages with are the real life moments, so I do my best to make sure I don't let work get too in the way of my day with Mia. We have fun with it.

It's been amazing exploring motherhood and sharing the experience with people who have been with me for such a long time - I'm very grateful to share such a special moment of my life with other people, and get such lovely messages of support.

Before lockdown, we spent a lot of time making content whilst exploring London, but now it's more around the fun I have keeping Mia entertained, with playtime, yoga, baby exercise, and of course, fashion!

Finally, If you had one piece of advice to give to other aspiring influencers, what would it be?

I'm going to give three.

1) Be true to yourself. Don't be who you think your audience wants to be, or like someone else. The most engaging content is from the heart.

2) Create, create, create. You can never have too much and can use variations across all platforms

3) make sure it's high quality. The aim is to make content people want to share.

Most of all have fun and good luck.
