Honestly? I still find it crazy to be seen as blogging / “micro influencing”! I started properly during lockdown because I had more time to take pictures and concentrate on the quality of them. I absolutely love fashion and beauty, and taking pictures in different settings satisfies the creative side of my personality. I’ve made so many lovely friends through it and getting positive feedback motivates me to do more!
What has been your biggest challenge so far?
I’d say the biggest challenge so far has been growing my account and moving from a personal/private to a content creation page. I’ve always wanted to grow my account but I definitely felt I didn’t have a “place”, and getting your content the visibility you want and need is hard! However I follow so many amazing pages, both big and small, that it gave me the push I needed to throw myself in. If I ever feel anxious now, I just think, if people don’t want to hear me ramble on my stories or share my favourite products, they can unfollow! My main focus now is growing my page and it’s following, gaining more visibility, and working with more amazing brands. .
I work full time as an Internal Communications Channel Specialist, which is a very busy job! When I’m not working, I’m planning / creating content, online shopping (and creating wish lists as long as my arm), or spending time with the lovely people in my life. I also drink copious amounts of tea / coffee to keep me going.
Finally, If you had one piece of advice to give to other aspiring influencers, what would it be?
Enjoy it!! Don’t stress when the algorithm changes, or a post doesn’t do as well as you’d hoped, or you’re not happy with the theme of your feed! It’s easy to get consumed by those things but it’s supposed to be fun! Enjoy creating content, working with your favourite brands and don’t worry about what other people think. If you’re enjoying it, you’re doing it right!
