This week we caught up VIP Member and Beauty Influencer, Roshinarora...
Tell us how long have you been blogging and what motivated you to start?
I started making makeup videos now and then about a year ago that I would randomly post on instagram. After receiving a lot of praise and requests to do more by friends and family, I realised I could really help people with this and I decided to start blogging properly and have been doing so consistently for the past 6-8 months. My motivation was my love for makeup and beauty. Beauty to me is another world I like to escape into, I call it my happy place. It makes me really happy when someone else buys a product I have used and loves it as much as I do, passing on the tools to help another persons confidence is really rewarding 🙂
What's been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge when I initially started was the technical aspect of filming. I wasn’t too familiar with how to set up a camera, what type of lighting to use, how to edit well etc. It's taken me some time to figure my way around it all.
What's a typical day like for you?
Alongside blogging I also work. The days that I am working, I will usually spend the evenings after work either filming or editing. Since COVID-19, I haven’t been going into work, so my time has been fully focused on blogging. On a typical day, I will wake up and have some breakfast. Then I will start preparing to film. After filming I usually spend my time either editing or planning what content I am going to be working on for the next couple of weeks. I usually shoot my content about a week or 2 in advance.
Finally, If you had one piece of advice to give to other aspiring influencers, what would it be?
If i could I’ve one piece of advice to aspiring influencers, it would be to work on what you’re really passionate about. When you truly enjoy something, it shows in your work, and that should be your motivation instead of followers or likes. I call beauty my happy place, and that is what keeps me working on it consistently 🙂
